I've been a fan since Quintessence, and my favorite album up till now has been Empiricism, but I just cannot believe how good Urd is. It's the kind of album where all cynicism about music goes away and you feel like a teenager just getting into music again, so many chills, so many moments where you become lost in the music. The interplay between Simen and Andreas is absolutely chilling, absolutely the best of both worlds; vocally this album cannot be topped, period. I dunno if any member of the band will ever read this, but I just want to express my sincerest respect and gratitude, music is one of the most important things in my life and albums like Urd are like a religious experience. It may sound like a load of hyperbole, but life is truly marvelous due to things like music, and Borknagar is one band that keeps this sentiment firmly planted in my heart. Anyone on the fence about getting this album needs to sell a kidney and get it now, best album of 2012 so far, and will be very hard to top.
